Shrimp Boat and Elvis Presley

Song of the Shrimp Lyrics

Artist(Band):
Elvis Presley

(Words & music by Bennett - Tepper)

I saw three shrimp in the water,
two were old and gray

I swam a little bit closer and ..
I heard the third one say

Goodbye mama shrimp,
papa shake my hand

Here come the shrimp boat for to take me to Louisian'

Here come the shrimp boat for to take me to Louisian'

He showed his mama and papa, the shrimp newspaper he read

An invitation to all the shrimp and this is what it said

Free ride, New Orleans, stay in grand hotel

Meet Creole gal who help you come out of your shell

Meet Creole gal who help you come out of your shell

If I should live to be ninety, I will never forget
The little shrimp and the song he sang as he jumped into the net

Goodbye mama shrimp, papa shake my hand

Here come the shrimp boat for to take me to Louisian'

Here come the shrimp boatfor to take me to Louisian'

Here come the shrimper for to take me to Louisian'

Here come the shrimper for to take me to Louisian'
Here come the shrimper for to take me to Louisian'

I spent twenty years in Florida... have been here and just about everywhere there. Shell Point was near here I believe and I used to have a beautiful collection of bleached white shells.... all that stayed behind when I left a bad marriage with a suitcase. Turns out it was all worth it. Beautiful blog!

I worked in Marathon fla as a kid on the shrimp & mackeral docks. I've located the dockes on google earth, many things are still the same, but where have all the trawlers gone to ? it's all little pleasure boats now.
